What is reBlogging?
It is a blogger who repost’s information of another bloggers content, usually in the form of a article. Reblogging is concluded with the simple step of crediting the original blogger!
It was first discovered by Jonah Peretti, who worked for a company called “Eyebeam Art and Technology Center”. A R&D program dubbed, ‘Reblog’. Reblog was an open-source program for anyone who wanted to share content from one blog on another. It became popularized when Tumblr integrated it into their social network for re-sharing posts. Other similar Concepts are, “Retweet” on Twitter, “Share” on Facebook.
Why is reBlogging important?
When the act of crediting the original source is completed, reblogging excels at relaying crucial information out to the mass public. Rebloggers are often contributed as the, “Minute Men of New’s and Information”. It is imperative to challenge the main stream media, as its controlled by a small group of people. Reblogging helps breaks this chain of control and cultures connections amongst communities of similar concern. Getting the information out!
